About Kate

Hi, I am an Australian contemporary artist who lives in Melbourne.

I have been exhibiting in galleries and art spaces since 1999. I am surrounded by a wonderful art community and network.

As an entrant into national art awards such as the Archibald, Doug Moran, and Portia Geach Portrait Awards, I have deepened my exploration and love of portraiture.

Commissioned work has been incorporated into my practice which has broadened my experience and expertise.

Last year, I completed an art residency at Can Serrat, in El Bruc, Barcelona, which I shared with many contemporary artists in many disciplines from around the world, for a wonderful two months.

Sharing my art knowledge and skills with people of all ages, and assisting them in projecting their own 'voice', has been a passion of mine for a long time.

I am a qualified, registered art teacher and have had over 30 years experience in many schools and privately in my home studio and other settings.

My education includes a Bachelor of Education (Arts/Crafts) at Melbourne College of Advanced Education (now Melbourne University), and a Master of Fine Art at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (R.M.I.T.) University in 2010/11.
